Hi, Welcome to my website which features my poetry and short stories. My poetry is mostly written in form: sonnets, villanelles, sestinas, and Sapphic stanzas as well as some free-verse poetry.  My book, Woman on Canvas has been recently published by Wipf and Stock under the imprint Resource Publications.

A central theme of the collection is the struggle to reconcile science and faith. The collection also contains several poems about war: Requiem for a War, Knit Purl, Cherokee County Draft Dodgers, and On the Berlin UBahn, 1985. While all of these were written well before the Iran War started, they have, alas, a new relevance.  Not all of the poetry is about war, though. Much of it is about education, motherhood, social class, and the effects of social isolation and imprisonment.  Aging is another theme, one explored through the descriptions of an aging dog as well as the poet's own experiences.

This website contains examples of my poetry as well as some of my shorter fiction. You may enjoy my blog, where I comment on several well-known poems.
